Mediterranean diet

The easiest and tastiest diet is the Mediterranean diet because it offers a wide variety of dishes which come from all the Mediterranean countries. The dishes you will find in this diet contain the following: vegetables, fruits, grains, fish and poultry. In this meal plan you have to avoid saturated fat which come from butter or margarine and replace them with healthy fat like olive oil. Nutritionists say that this diet is very healthy and easy to follow.

The Mediterranean diet is different in every country which is near the Mediterranean Sea. This is a good thing because you can gather from every country the dishes that you like and form an eating plan. Aside from all of these the diet has some common foods that you will find in all countries and they are: fruits, vegetables, fish, rice, beans, potatoes and grains. When you are following this diet you can eat eggs and fish but in small amounts.

When you eat chicken or fish you can only consume it boiled, steamed or grilled. You are not allowed to eat it fried because it gets full of fat that it is bad for you. You can get your healthy fats also from olive oil and canola oil. These two oils are very healthy and are not bad like butter and regular oil are. You can also get you healthy oils from nuts, it is recommended that you eat a hand of nuts every day.

If you like to drink something during dinner or when you go out you are allowed just as long as you drink in moderation. You can have a glass of red wine during dinner because it is very good for you body. When you drink red wine you introduce into your body antioxidants.

When you eat in the morning you can have a little bit of everything: you can have some fruit, you can eat a small piece of cheese and some bread. For lunch and dinner you can have a salad, a vegetable soup and some pasta or rice.

It is a joy to follow the Mediterranean diet because it has so many tasty dishes that you can choose from. In the Mediterranean area most dishes are made with vegetables and fish which is why they are so healthy. This diet does not pose any threat to you health because you can eat all the things that you body needs.
