The Dash diet & diabetes was a component of a study developed in 2004. In the study there were three groups and each group had a different type of diabetes intervention. The first group was given only and educative lecture about diabetes. The second group was put on a diet which included a high level on physical activity and the reduction of salt and alcohol from their meals. The last group, the third one, was given an educative lecture and the Dash diet. All the groups showed positive health changes. However the group with the Dash diet showed that there was an increase of insulin sensitivity.

For those who have diabetes it is the perfect diet because it helps them because it manages the effects of diabetes and reduces the level of blood pressure which is often of and effect of this health problem. Because the diet recommends only the consumption of vegetables and fruits people who suffer from diabetes will feel better and lose weight at the same time. Those who want to start following this diet should know that they have to eliminate salt from their every day meals. By salt we do not mean just stopping to use it we also mean removing those products from your diet which are full of sodium.

Now you know why DASH diet & diabetes go so well one with the other. If you want to stay healthy but still lose weight this is the perfect way to do it. Now people who suffer from diabetes can lose weight without having to jeopardize their health doing it. It is very important to read all the instructions that come with the diet before you start it. Also, it would be a wonderful idea to talk to you doctor before you do anything because he is the one who can give you the best advice about what you should do and how you should do it.
